Who is it for?

The Essentials are aimed at protected area professionals according to their level of responsibility or place in the hierarchy. For example, the Ranger Essential is aimed at protected area professionals who apply decisions and ensure the practical implementation of activities in these areas.

What these professionals must know:

Rangers need a basic understanding of PA conservation, but also the technical skills and precise methods that are useful for implementing activities.

Goals of the Essentials

More condensed, these courses are for those who don't have the time to follow a full MOOC, but who still want to acquire useful basics to help them in their job, or simply to refresh their memory.

Example: forest guards can take the Ranger Essential and have explanations related to the performance of their duties at their fingertips.

Course structure

When to follow the course?

These online courses are always available, and there is no deadline for taking them.

Content and attestation of participation

Each Essential is a compilation of 50 MOOC videos selected according to the target profile. There are tests between the videos (2 questions per video) to assess your understanding of the content. If you answer at least 75 out of 100 questions correctly, a certificate of participation will be generated automatically. The number of attempts is unlimited.

NB: this course is not part of the MOOCs required to take the Online Certificate of protected area Conservation exam..
